About us

Luv-a-Duck is a family-owned company established in 1968. It is a fully vertically integrated business that includes Duck breeding, the Hatchery, Duck farms and multiple process sites in country Victoria (Nhill and Ballarat) with the Head office located in Port Melbourne.

The Wimmera region is an ideal location for breeding and growing Ducks. Nestled between the deserts in the North and South, it has a perfect microclimate with gentle winds to keep our barns cool during the day and in warm conditions on cold nights.

Our farms are in the sunny and spacious Wimmera Wheatland in Western Victoria. This is an ideal climate for breeding and growing ducks as its nestled between deserts in the north and south and has a perfect microclimate with gentle winds to keep our barns cool during the day and warmer conditions on cooler nights. The mild climate, plentiful grain and isolation from many other farms, enables the enforcement of Strict quarantine procedures to prevent disease.

Our international business has Export certificates to be able to supply our international customers. We have and expert team of Export professionals to support the development of our international business, with support from the domestic marketing and sales team. Additionally , we have a large portfolio of recipes (over 450) and Sales and Marketing material and resources, that are ready to be allocated to developing our new businesses.

Luv-a-Duck’s target market will include Food Distributors, Retailers and the Foodservice industry (Catering and Restaurants) and Pet food manufacturers wanting ingredients. We also offer feathers and down for Duck feather processors.

Food Service Range

Luv-a-Duck has a wide selection of products for the Foodservice market. Our products are used in international Hotels, Restaurants, Airlines Catering and many other organisations in Australia and around the world.

Luv-a-Duck Food Service range includes Whole Duck, Breast and Legs in both raw and pre-cooked varieties. All products can be frozen for up to 24 months shelf life.

Retail Range

Luv-a-Duck is sold in all major Retailers in Australia. We are in Coles, Aldi, Costco, Woolworths and Independent Retailers.

Our range include whole duck (Peking and Western) Fresh formats and pre-cooked (sous vide) boxes as well as Duck Fat in 200gm and 2kg tubs.

The range provides shoppers with variety of flavours and convenience in terms of meal solutions at home.

Specialty ingredient range

Luv-a-Duck can supply a range of specialty products including Livers and Hearts and Feet through to duck bone variants including MDM (Mechanically Deboned Meat).

Duck Feathers and down are also available.
