Luv-a-Duck believes in giving back. Our journey with the Karen refugees in Nhill is a testament to this commitment.
Since our inception, we have trained, supported through housing, learning centres, and employed generations of Karen refugees from Myanmar, helping them settle into their new Australian home and become key members of our community. Now, Karen people make up about 10% of Nhill’s population, and boost $41.5 million to the local economy.
In 2013, we received the ‘Business Inclusion Award’ at the Australian Migration and Settlement Awards, recognising our work with the Nhill community, AMES, and local service providers to ensure the refugees not only found employment but also felt a strong sense of belonging.
Luv-a-Duck is grateful to contribute to the rich history of our regional community and we will continue doing our part.
